Stephen W. Di Rito
Steve Di Rito is Sr. Manager, Enterprise Security Programs, supporting
the Enterprise Threat Intelligence Management unit at Discover. He is responsible for leading six separate
security programs including Workplace Violence Prevention, Travel Security,
Event Security, Executive Protection, Incident Reporting, Security Programs
Education & Awareness and Security Programs Training. These programs are all aimed at keeping
employees safe and educating them about how to identify, report, and react to
potential acts of violence no matter if at home, work, or traveling.
Rito began his career with Discover in January 2017 and retired after 20 years
with the Federal Bureau of Investigations where he was responsible for
investigating a variety of crimes including Domestic Terrorism, Drug
Distribution, Russian Organized Crime and International Terrorism. During his career, Mr. Di Rito gained 15
years of expertise as a Special Agent Bomb Technician and spent his last seven
years leading the National Explosives Task Force while supporting the White
House in writing national policy for countering Improvised Explosive Devices. Mr. Di Rito also served ten years on active
duty as a U.S. Air Force Security Police Officer and retired from the USAF
Reserves after 27 years of service.
Rito earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from the University
of Maryland and a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice from California
State University - Sacramento.
