On October 9, 2014 the ASIS International Illinois North Shore
Chapter recognized Deputy Ari Briskman for his life saving efforts at their
annual awards dinner.
On July 8, 2014 Deputy Briskman responded to an unresponsive one
year old boy in unincorporated Lake Villa. When Deputy Briskman arrived
he had difficulty communicating with the child's parents because of a language
barrier. Deputy Briskman administered CPR and the child coughed becoming
responsive. The child was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center
in Libertyville where it was determined he suffered a febrile seizure caused by
a high fever.
As a result of Deputy Briskman's actions he was nominated for
the ASIS International Officer of the Year Award and the Lake County Sheriff's
Office Live Saving Award.
