1:15 - 2:00 Radicalization Awareness Presentation

Fighting terrorism and violent extremism requires more than security measures. Awareness is the first step in preventing violent extremist activities. Both the public and private sector have a role in identifying radicalization and this presentation will discuss the current experience on the issue of radicalization.

2:00 - 2:30 - Dr. Robert Pape, University of Chicago, Chicago Project on Security and Terrorism

The Chicago Project on Security and Terrorism has a core mission to produce top international security scholarship with policy relevance, in order to reduce security threats and enhance stability across the world. Dr. Pape specializes in international security affairs, he is considered one of the world's foremost experts on strategic air power and terrorism studies. His research efforts has also led him to study the effectiveness of economic sanctions, humanitarian intervention policy, U.S.-China Relations, and American Grand Strategy.

He will discuss the current issues and research relative to suicide bombings.

2:45 - 3:45 - Insider Threat Panel, How Practitioners are Protecting People, Places and Assets

This panel will explore the issues surrounding insider threats, and will provide an opportunity to share experiences of private sector agencies to help raise awareness for practitioners.
