Letter from the Chairman

Congratulations to the unanimously elected 2026 Board:

Marina Ceron-Perez, MBA, CICA – Chairwoman

Andy Balbala, CPP – Vice Chairman

    Nicole Velez – Chapter Secretary

Suzanne Casteel, CPP – Chapter Treasurer

An additional thank you to Dave Wilson and Tim Schoolmaster.  Their assistance, knowledge and participation are invaluable to the Chapter.

I wish the in-coming board ALL the BEST of LUCK and support as you move forward.

The Chapter, as is true in most everything, continues to grow and be a “work in progress”.  The job is never done but the direction and energy of the in-coming board will help the chapter continue to grow and prosper.

I do feel that the main items on my agenda, when I assumed the role in January 2024, were nearly accomplished:

  1. Chapter financial growth and stability
  2. Chapter membership growth
  3. Succession plan for the board and chapter team/support
  4. A new web page design
  5. Consistent chapter meetings with a convenient location and price affordable for all
  6. The re-start of the Law Enforcement/Security Officer Appreciation Dinner
  7. Woman in Security/Next Generation seminars
  8. Surveying of the chapter members to gain a better understanding of wants/needs/desires

Thank you all who attended the meetings the past 2 years and for the wonderful turnout we had for the Holiday Party Dec 18 at Hackneys.  The open bar and menu, I hope, demonstrated in a small way the Chapters appreciation.  We were also serenaded by the Glenbrook South Alumni Choir (attached).  Overall, a very pleasant evening.

Also, (attached) before the event started Tim Schoolmaster and I were able to speak with former Chicago Police OfficerJim Mullen (for those who don’t know his story – GOOGLE him and CPD, it will come right up).  If you can, support him by purchasing, at most grocery stores, his Mullen’s Applesauce; his mother’s recipe info@mullenfoods.com.  What a FANTASTIC attitude he has, we can all learn from him, not letting a life changing incident, drag you down maybe lower than imaginable.

Thank you all… have a joyous, peaceful, healthy, prosperous and restful holiday season and 2026.

Happy New Year and see you in 2026!

Stay tuned as the chapter grows… exciting times ahead!
