Hello North Shore ASIS

Thank you for attending our April 18 meeting at Hackney’s.  39 folks attended representing 20 companies and organizations.  A huge thank you to Christina Parks from AXIS Communications, our Chapters Women in Security and Next Generation Chairperson, for organizing the meetings presentation on recognizing and overcoming Unconscious Biases.  Mike Newberry from AUS and Heather Cryzewicz from Sound Incorporated were co-presenters; thank you to both.  Judging by the fact that no-one left the meeting early, I think its safe to say that the presentation was VERY well received.  (On a side note many told me that they really enjoyed Hackney’s and we should make that the Chapters “home restaurant”.  What do you think?)

The next Women in Security and Next Generation presentation will be on July 25 at the Axis Communications Innovation Center in Chicago.  The topic – Mentoring.

Please join us for our next chapter meeting May 9.  Paul Timm, Director of Education Safety at Allegion and a nationally known Keynote Speaker, Author, Podcaster | School Security Expert with over 25 years of experience will be our speaker.  Paul is always engaging and nationally recognized as one of the few school security experts.  We are fortunate to have him in the Chicago area.  See you there.
